Dr. Jessica Peterson
I am from the beautiful west Texas borderland city of El Paso. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Animal Science with Equine Emphasis from New Mexico State University, in Las Cruces, NM. Starting at the age of 15, straight through until I was admitted into vet school, I worked a variety of jobs: doggie daycare attendant, dog kennel supervisor, vet tech, barn hand, horse trainer. I attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine to earn my DVM degree, and attended Texas A&M for my clinical year. My fiance, Kevin, and I met during vet school. We moved to Phoenix after graduation to pursue our careers in medicine and surgery. We currently have three "kids", who we adore: two dogs, Scout & Kerrigan, and one cat, Foxy.
Outside of the hospital, I enjoy off-road adventures, motorcycling, playing video games, and watching 'King of the Hill' episodes on repeat. I believe that the bond between you and your pets is something to be cherished, and I would be honored to care for your loved ones. I look forward to seeing you and your pets at your next visit!
Dr. Shanah Frankel
A born and raised native of Las Vegas, NV, Dr. Frankel decided to give “seasons” a try at The Ohio State University. Throughout her time in Ohio, she explored the wide world of animal care working for the Columbus Zoo, the USDA, a companion animal hospital and running tOSU Horsemen’s Association. After earning both her bachelor’s and veterinary medicine degrees from tOSU, she decided winters just weren’t for her, and returned back west for some very missed sunshine and family. Her professional passions include feline medicine, anesthesia & pain management, dentistry and reproductive medicine. Outside of the office, her favorite hobby is cooking (and therefore second favorite hobby is eating), spending time with family and the great outdoors.
Dr. Jennifer DePew
Jennifer was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. She attended Arizona State University prior to attending Midwestern University’s Veterinary Medicine program, where she graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to attending veterinary school, Jennifer worked as a veterinary technician at Sun Valley Hope Animal Hospital and was lucky to be a part of an amazing team of individuals who have limitless care and compassion for people and their pets. In her free time Jennifer enjoys rest and relaxation, and spending time with her dog and cat, Hilde and Luna, and her family. What drew her to veterinary medicine was a love of animals and a desire to help and heal them, but each day she is driven and inspired by the love and compassion that pet owners show for animals.
Zoey was an integral part of the Sun Valley Hope family. Her unique sense of humor and supportive management style kept us all laughing yet focused on providing the best possible care for our patients. We miss her every single day.
